Troy (aka 'homer') has lived in North Wildwood most of life. After a few years in the Navy and abroad, he and his wife Maureen (a lifelong summer resident) decided to raise their three kids on the 5 Mile Beach. Since their return in 2000, the island has seen much change. Troy undertook this project in 2006 to help preserve some defining character of the island.

The fifth member of the WDW Team, I have been going to Wildwood every Summer since 1993. All of those years I took the Doo Wop architecture for granted but always loved to drive down Ocean Ave. and look at all the motels with their neon signs. In 2004 I started unofficially collecting brochures and taking pictures of Doo Wop motels and got ones that are now since demolished. Every year since then I have been collecting motel brochures and taking pictures to preserve the memories of times gone by.

Born and raised in Michigan. I am a Wildwood nut and should probably work as a PR person for them. I love everything about it and miss it when I am not there. We are the proud owners of articles from the Packard Motel. When it closed we drove 700 miles just to get the green neon lawn furniture from outside our motel room that we always rented. I display my seashell lamp proudly in my living room! I can safely say these two things make me a Wildwood nut and proud of it.

My interest in Wildwood goes back to 1962, the first year I visited the island. Since then, I have missed about 10 years of not visiting at least one week each year. I am now retired, but spend my time doing some school security work and bartending. Spending all of these years visiting Wildwood instilled an unexplainable love and interest in the place, even though I did much traveling when I was regularly employed. My interest, besides reading and traveling, is music. All types, but for the last 10 years has focused mainly on the music of my generation, the 50's and early 60's. Coincidentally, a lot of it is DooWop.

Built in 1979 the Horizon is one of Wildwood's finest and most contemporary resort motels. Our ideal location, complemented by our luxurious accommodations, also makes us one of the most popular. You'll understand why when you see the spacious 2 1/2 room efficiency apartments suitable for two to six people. Each unit features cable color TV with free HBO (in season), AM-FM room music, in-room phones, air conditioning and heat, wall-to-wall carpeting, modern bath and fully equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator, microwave and barbeque! Plus, there's daily maid service, on-premises Laundromat and free off-street parking. Wake Up To The Good Life! You'll spend many languid hours swimming in our large heated pool and soaking up the sun on the surrounding patio while enjoying the poolside music. And, of course, the ocean constantly beckons with its gentle surf, sandy beach and fishing and boating activities. There's something for everyone at the Jersey Shore... Playing in the Atlantic's sparkling waters or strolling along the beach in the moonlight. Taking in the excitement of nearby Atlantic City. Fishing, boating or enjoying the boardwalk amusements.

I'm a native of the suburbs of Baltimore whose family has vacationed in Wildwood since long before I was born. I was the oddball as a kid–most every other Maryland kid goes to Ocean City (MD). They don't know what they were missing in Wildwood. I don't go as often nowadays favoring quieter places now like Chincoteague Island. A lot of the things that made Wildood great to me have been fading in recent years but what's left and the memories still call me down every other year or so.

I've loved Wildwood since I was a little girl when I vacationed in the '50s and '60s. with my family (Philly natives) in North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. My paternal grandfather lived on 7th St. near the beach for nearly 40 years. To put myself through college, I waited tables and cleaned rooms. I've loved every minute I ever spent there, and wish the island was still the same as I remember it. Now I live across the country and visit every couple of years. To commemorate Wildwood's glory days, I maintain a blog called the Wildwood Rewind. Check it out at http://sandandseamemories.blogspot.com/.

My parents and I would drive the 2-3 hours from Linden, NJ to Wildwood for a week every summer for as far back as I could remember until I was about high school age. We stayed at the long-gone Markay Motel on Atlantic & Lavender in the Crest. This morphed into me and my high school friends going for long weekends, at the Carousel and Gondolier. The last time I was there was the weekend of senior prom. Now I'm 25, out of college, living in Arlington, VA, and listen to WILW on an online stream at work just to hear the places I remember mentioned, hoping more and more names I recognize are still in existence. I plan on going back in summer 2009 for the first time since May 2001, finally giving my college friends a taste of the Jersey shore *I* remember.

I have been coming to Wildwood to vacation for the past 10 years at least and every summer it feels like I'm coming home. I'm a big fan of the Doo Wop hotels and have always enjoyed driving down Ocean Avenue at night - when the Neon signs are all lit up. I'm hoping that we'll be able to preserve some of the rich heritage and architecture that makes the Wildwoods so special.

The Wildwood bug bit me when I married my husband, Scott! I grew up living on LBI and the excitement and glitz of Wildwood swept my heart away! Now that we're a bit older (notice, I said a BIT), it's a place to relax and unwind from our busy lives. I own a country shoppe in Woodbury Hts, NJ called Paula's Pickins Country Shoppe & Craft Classes. I sell handmade primitive country items and furnishings, and I teach craft classes for kids. I love my work, but I love collecting Wildwood memorabilia better! Mr. Bright at the History Museum calls me Tiki Paula because I'm always looking for pictures and items from the long gone Tiki Motel in North Wildwood. I'm so glad I did get to see Wildwood in the 1980's when all the motels were still up and running. I never got to ride on the Golden Nugget ride on Hunt's Pier tho--thankfully it's still there, I can keep wishing!!

Hi I am literally a Wildwood Baby. I vacationed at Wildwood Crest for 2 weeks every year until I was 12 years old. I grew up knowing and loving the Wildwood area. We stayed at the Montacello Motel, which is now gone to the recking ball, and knew the owners at the time very well. They used to live in the house behind the motel. My brother and I spent many countless hours in the motel's pool. We used to wake up early in the morning and wait till the pool was cleaned and then be the first ones in. I am now married and living in Florida. I do miss the yearly vacations to Wildwood Crest. My husband and I plan on going back so I can show him what I loved most about the area.

I am 42 years old but still feel like I'm 21, was born and raised in South Philly and currently reside in Springfield, Delaware County with my wife and two sons. I am the owner of a mortgage broker business called American Patriot Mortgage Corp. and am also a licensed, practicing Realtor in PA and NJ. I have a mortgage broker office in Wildwood Crest and a condo in North Wildwood. Going to Wildwood has been a tradition for generations in my family. I own 3 classic cars from the 1950s and have a great appreciation for everything about the '50s from the cars, to the music (love the doo-wop sound), to the greaser hairdo. I would have loved to have been around to experience Wildwood in it's heydey as my father did, but I do get a taste of it during the '50s weekend in October, which I shared with my 9 year old son last year, and he had a great time. It was a great era that should be realized by future generations.

I am the leader of the band that Howie Reynolds began in 1932 with Frank Palumbo at the Restaurant at 8th and Catherine in south Philly. I met Howie in 1973 and we forged a friendship that eventually led to our marriage. It took us 30 years to decide to make the plunge but on the 24th of Aug 2005 Mayor Aldo Polombo married us and the best man was of course Cozy and my matron of honor was Mrs Cozy Morley aka Bobbi Morley. The BlackMagic SwingBand is a product of Howies work teaching me the finer points of being a Bandleader and it has paid off. We are booked a year ahead doing Non profit fundraisers. My Music choices come from the music Howie left me and the Influence that Cozy had on me when I was 23 years old and working in the music business for Howie. Cozy and the Club Avalon shaped who I am today and we play the Best of the Big Band Era. When or where ever we play the audience gets their moneys worth. The best of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman etc

I previously worked at Childrens's Hospital/Seashore House, but had to stop working because of medical issues. Working there was one of the greatest experiences in my life. I truly miss my job, co-workers and patients. There was never a dull moment there and I learned so much. I also enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. They are a joy to be with

Grew up in Levittown, PA where I was born in 1961. Loved visiting Wildwood, NJ in my youth. Spent family vacations there many times especially when the Shriners had their big parades. Memories of Uries & Zaber's Restuarants and visiting during my college days with my University of Pittsburgh friends in late August of 1979 and 1980, before going back to school.
