Sea Winds Motel
4508 Atlantic Avenue
Wildwood, NJ 08260

(609) 522-1870

A prominent example of a structure built prior to the 'Doo Wop' era and later updated as a motel, the Sea Winds has survived in one form or another on one of Wildwood proper's busiest strips for over seven decades now. Originally built as a single family home, it served as a motel for nearly 50 years. The building appears to be in the midst of a condo-conversion at present.

(800) 225-2172 / (609) 522-2442

The Landmark is just that, a longtime fixture in central Wildwood proper. The motel is perhaps best known as one of the area's few year-round lodging options over the past few decades.

Rio Motel
4800 Ocean Ave
Wildwood, NJ 08260

Combined with its boldly festive look, the Rio Motel's prominent location made it iconic and no doubt contributed to its demise in July 2005 while many less distinctive neighbors escaped the wrecking ball. The Rio sat on Ocean Avenue, facing the south end of the Boardwalk and the vast expanse of Wildwood's beach, at the corner of Rio Grande Avenue, the main artery into Wildwood for visitors coming over the bay bridge.
