The two-story Mermaid was typical of the early apartment-style buildings in North Wildwood. Linear in design, with all rooms facing east, the structure remains standing. It is likely used to house individual condo units these days. The building is now clad in beige vinyl, it's white stucco base and burnt orange color scheme a long ago memory.
Originally a small motor court, the Se-Wil would undergo several name changes throughout its history. The motel was also known as Kelly's, Bates and, finally, the Lighthouse.
