• Significance: Diners were an integral landmark of 1950s roadways. Because of lower fuel costs and increased automobile use, diners became the best source of food for travellers. Both privately owned diners along with franchised sites flourished. In the post-war period, diners needed to attract more patrons. • Many Diners were built in NJ and some manufacters; Kullman Industries Inc., Avenel,  Jerry Mahoney Inc., Elizabeth, Silk City Diners, Paterson.
• The Pink Cadillac was built in 1955 by Mountain View, and was remodeled sometime during the 60s by Paramount.
